School Of Hard Knocks

The most remarkable story of one tough lady school teacher who, against all odds, pulls kids off the street who have been kicked out of school, giving them a second chance the system doesn’t usually allow. Running a school in the heart of one of the most notorious and dangerous places in North America, requires so much more than qualifications. Our story follows the lives of the teachers and the dozen kids, who’s academic education within the system is over, as gang turf prevents any chance of relocation to another school. It’s the streets and gang life, or, for the lucky few who really want it, another shot at graduation. With no funding whatsoever, the school is little more than a tiny space at the back of the local church. They rely solely on donations, which, mostly come in the form of workbooks, pens and paper, the most local people can afford to help.
